Bank Holiday Blues…

I am sure there are many of you out there who are already feeling the Bank Holiday blues, as I write this, the rain is dribbling down our back door and Nelly is staring out not sure whether she fancies getting wet or not? Hopefully, some new finds will brighten up your day and might provide inspiration for the next bank holiday (only a few weeks away)! Last Sunday I finally got chance to visit Castlefield Artisan Market, I have followed some of the traders and crafters there for a while but unfortunately always had plans when it was on.
Castlefield Artisan MarketIt is set in the fantastic Upper Campfield Market Hall on the corner of Liverpool Road and Deansgate, Manchester. It was built in the 1870’s and is located in the hub of Castlefield which was the heart of Manchester’s industry  and now hosts some fantastic bars, restaurants and gorgeous interior design shops. market hallApart from being a beautiful building, it is a fantastic space inside that is used for many different events. I loved its stripped back and ‘rough’ feel, it makes the stalls inside look even more beautiful and who doesn’t love industrial chic? I know I do!
Market HallI couldn’t help but think what an amazing wedding venue it would be!

I met the lovely ladies, Cathy and Karen who run Ice Cream Creations at the market. I also mustn’t forget Sophia who helps out too, Sophia is the pretty little shabby chic van that they sell their delicious treats from, she is a crucial member of the team and I think she would be a fab addition to a vintage wedding!

Cathy and Karen produce all their creations at Heights Farm in Littleborough, Lancashire and offer a bespoke collection of hand made ice cream cupcakes and shots.ice cream creationsThey are available for a wide range of events and celebrations, from weddings to school fairs and will soon be providing tasty treats at the finish line of the ‘Manchester 10k race‘. They even do delivery within a 5 mile radius, what more could you ask for? They have worked extremely hard to build their fantastic artisan business and along with Sophia I hope to bump into them as often as I can and have an amazing ice cream creation every time I do!icecreamcreations vanFind them on Facebook or check out their lovely website http://icecreamcreations.co.uk/  make sure you mention NellyNora when you do!

I also loved Tique Chic, a stall that sells restored furniture and one-off pieces. Apart from bringing back to life fantastic finds I thought the prices were extremely reasonable, like I mentioned before, you need to be there early as pieces get snapped up!tique chicI missed my favourite find, a vintage sewing box with a drop tray and lovely little handle.  There’s always another day!vintage boxFind them on Facebook now and see more of their beautiful transformations, don’t forget to mention NellyNora.inside sewing box
